Urja is an experienced physiotherapist from Perth, Australia, a passionate community leader, and someone who lives her life guided by the belief that healing happens from the inside out.
Working since 2017 in musculoskeletal and chronic pain physiotherapy, Urja has developed a broad and deeply holistic skillset through private practice, running her own clinic for five years, and treating a wide range of injuries with a special focus on lower back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, knee pain and headaches.
Her passion lies in helping people understand their bodies, reconnect with their inner resources, and move away from pain and back into their personal power. Skilled in chronic and persistent pain, mind-body approaches, hands-on treatment, dry needling, clinical reformer Pilates, gym-based rehabilitation and whole-person lifestyle integration, Urja has also worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in both London and Perth.
Alongside her physiotherapy work, Urja facilitates community events and global workshops focused on connection, emotional processing and self-awareness, creating safe spaces where people can explore their inner world and build a toolkit to understand themselves and the world around them.

Book With UrjaUrja's Story
Urja was born in Nairobi, Kenya and moved to Perth at just 10 months old. As a child she was passionate about sport: netball, gymnastics, badminton. Her father was her number one supporter, cheering from the sidelines through injuries, setbacks, and triumphs. It was through these early sporting experiences, and the physio clinic that became a second home, that the seeds of her career were planted. Her love for being active, problem solving and caring for others came together perfectly.
Early in her career, Urja noticed that many of her clients were achieving solid but short-lived results. Physically, they were ticking every box, yet something kept pulling them back. Time and again, it came down to stress, not just the overthinking kind, but stress on all fronts: mental, emotional, physical, chemical. This drove Urja deep into pain science, Eastern medicine and the relationship between our inner world and our outer experience.
Through her own practice, Urja kept returning to the same lesson, that true safety, strength and balance come from within. Her mission is to empower people with the skill set to tune in, understand what their body is asking for, and minimise pain long term. Like a garden: we find the weeds, pull them out, set a solid foundation and plant the new. From there, constant nurturing is essential to flourish and grow. It all starts from within.
Alongside her physiotherapy practice, Urja facilitates workshops and healing experiences globally, creating safe spaces where people can explore their inner world, heal through community, and build a toolkit to understand themselves and those around them.

How Urja Works
We begin with an in-depth assessment of your presenting complaint, movement history, goals and lifestyle. Together we create an action plan, not only to get you pain free, but to cultivate a genuine long-term solution.
With the aim of alleviating pain and unwinding the nervous system, we use techniques including dry needling, mobilisations, deep tissue work and trigger point release, alongside a simple home care plan to enhance progress between sessions.
Long-term preventative healing is achieved by building strength, stability, mobility and cohesion in the body. Through your rehab you will notice incredible improvements in balance, posture, core strength, body awareness and breathing.
